    Respect Your Accord.

    Hey People.

Finally commited to putting some money into my 88 Accord Limited.
nothin big just your average mods Carb(AirCleaner) to Intake, Exaust,Under Pulleys. Which leads me to a few questions is it true that I will screw up my cam/harmonic balancer if I install the under pulleys?. 2nd Would it be just as effective to run my carb open(without filtration) as it would be to make the intake. ????

    THNX ERRRRBODY.

no you should not change the crank pulley to an aftermarket one. The stock one is specifically designed to absorb the harmonics that would otherwise eat up all the bearings in the lower half of the engine. Ive seen the pictures of guys that didnt listen...

Carb air cleaner to intake makes it sound like you installed a fliter on the end of the carb air box which isn't the way to do it.
Try to get a low profile domestic ait cleaner on the stock carb.

If you want to remove the vacuum lines, just make sure it's okay with local laws.

    A20A1,

Would it be worth just running my carb with no filter just the screen to keep junk out.???, I have been told this is great. (Best airflow.)

You should always use a filter with your carb. If you use a high-flow, non-paper filter there is often no HP difference between with and without a filter.

If you don't use a filter you can get crap in your engine that will screw up valves, rings, and cylinder walls.
You should look at mikes site (A20A1) http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/319268/2
he's been rocking the carb for a long time..
You can use a civic aircleaner to give the carb a cold air intake.. check out this thread, it'll tell you how to make one to fit your stock carb
the end result looks like this:

thats Mindlos's old car with a short ram.. you'd be better off with a true CAI, but its budget dependant.
I was going to convert and build my own CAI using the how-to (http://www.87accordlxi.com/coldair/coldair.htm) but then my hatch got wrecked and I moved on to an FI sedan.
Good luck man...please don't run around without a filter

yo Hack Benjamin, welcome to the forum. you are better off searching your questions and then if you are not satisfied, then start up a thread.

By the way, where do you live? you seem like u live overseas.
