The window regulator is "X" shaped and has 2 plastic wheels that attach to another metal channel. The whole contraption is held together with rivets. What happens over time is the rivets start to work their way loose. I had to replace mine because my window would not close properly at 80 mph. The wind would suck the window right off the tracks. I would suggest replacin the window regulator. I tried replacing the window regulator. I tried replacing the rivets on the original with other rivets and then with screws but niether worked properly.
