Tail Light vents?

I have seen these vents on some Tail light sides, and i am wondering, What air flow are they venting? is it just from the rear wheel well?

I know I've seem them on Acura and it seems on some 3geez. Was it a JDM peice for our cars or is it from only Acura?

If my memory serves right, the 1g legend with the taillights simliar to us, uses the same vents. IMO they look pretty sweet.

i'm sure it can be done, uhhh hatch might be the best format for those 2g teg lights. seems like they're about the right size but if they're bigger than the hatch tails, then you'd need to cut the trunk lid which will be very hard. i'm sure they're a bit smaller tho, with sedans and coupes, you'd need alot and alot of molding.

some guy on cardomain did g3 integ tails on his hatch, of course he sux at it, soo it looks like ass.

i think the legend tails would look hot on a 3g.. damn how come i never thought of that before? Was it the legend that was the acura twin to the 3g? I remember seeing a pic of a black car on here a while ago that had the solid center section with the license plate in the bumper.
