tranny swap

i have got to get my tranny swapped on my 85 accord. im definately going to swap to a 5-speed, and i think id rather put a tranny from a mpfi engine on. i called the local honda shop and they found one but shipping was bout as much as the tranny itself....but i seem to recall that the tranny from the 3g accord would mount to my engine and if so i could find a lxi tranny and use it instead of shipping one across a few states.

if the 3g does mount, would i use the clutch petal/cable, CVjoint, flywheel and shift linkage from the 3g or stick with the 2g's parts?

i think for the most part you'd need to stick with the 2g parts, but as for the tranny i think the 3g tranny would work. i'm not sure though..., second opinion?

depends on your engine type? Is it ET1 or ES1? If it's an ET1 should be the same as 3G accord but i know some ES types had a different bellhousing? Phydueax knows quite a bit try PM him?
