Help! 89 SEi dome light is busted

hi everyone,

i have a 1989 accord sei. recently the dome light died on me. i initially thought it was the bulb, but when i replaced it it still didn't work. so, I opened up the dome light assembly to take a look. when i removed the assembly to take a look at the switch, small pieces (switch spring, etc.) fell out and are lost, so I need to replace the assembly somehow. honda said they will replace it for 100, but that seems absurdly high. can anyone recommend a solution to replacing the assembly? many thanks.

just go to the junkyard and buy a used one... should be really cheap

hmm my dome light stopped working on me and i havnt been able to fix it yet, i get no power to the switch and all of my fuses are good..

that's the exact problem that i was having before i trashed my assembly. did you test the current to the switch?
