i had reference components, and they were great. nice sensitivity on them, so they can be plenty loud with just the HU amp.
yah, that's why i got them, just gonna run em' off my alpine. heard they have good high and mid range on the treb. don't really need them for thump. plus they're shallow profile so i don't have to worry about the windshields hitting them. i was just really bored at work, so i felt like spending money.

i have 4 infinity reference 6002i's, im guessing its the old model of the same thing.
mine supposedly handle 75w rms, i am feeding them with an mtx amp rated at 117x2, and i am just splitting the signal, so i figure the speakers are getting like 58.5w rms, which is decent...
they sounded better with the amp than with deck power, but i need to tune the amp and turn the gain down, cause its up too high now, and i dont think it actually sounds that good.
if i were to buy speakers again, i would buy kappa's, since i would obviously run amp power to them. but then i would buy a 4 channel amp for it. ;-)
all in all they are decent though, but not great...

welll they're in, at first they were really loud and hurted my ears, but now they quieted down a bit, i don't know if you can "break in" a speaker. but i guess i did. they're pretty nice compared to the older pioneers i had, even runnin off the amp from the hu. recommend them.

i noticed the same thing about my alpines when they were new (hurt my ears at first, then seemed to mellow out). maybe i'm just going deaf.
