How much does a Accord coupe DX weigh (it was converted to PGM-FI). It doesn't seem to weigh very much

around 2500 lb. or really close to that, the swap wouldn't affect much only by a couple of lbs.

I thought it was more like 2397 lbs. I thought a accord dx 5 speed coupe is lighter than a 1999 civic si

the dx coupe is about 100 lb less then the 99-00 si's. the chasis i'm assuming is light but the engine is heavier. that's why with no engine and tranny, it's very light.

So how much lighter would the DX coupe be with the B16 engine. Is the A20 engine 150 lbs heavier than the B16

i would have never thought a b16 would be that much lighter. Never ever, 150lbs, really??? WTF makes the a20 so much heavier?? Is this including the tranny???

A20 must be like a tank compared to the b16. I know it has .4L more but theres got to be somthing elce to make up 150lbs.

Listen here girls, let's not knock a superior piece of engineering. Anyway, a 5 speed Accord DX coupe with A/C weighs 2542 lbs. If you remove the A/C, you are down to 2493 lbs. The auto version weighs 48 lb. more. If you swap to a B, you are sitting somewhere between 2343 - 2418 lbs. I guess I should get mine weighed sometime. This is lighter than a 6th gen Civic Si. They weigh in around 2600 lb. so all you nay-sayers who bitch the B16 doesn't have enough torque can eat me. My car weighs less than a car the engine came from the factory in and running high 15's in stock form.

BTW, if you had looked in the FAQ, you would have found this information.

That weighed in around 2700 lb., I think cause it was an LX-i and the inside was jammed full of junk that was left over from my swap plus what was stripped and I didn't use. Haha, I remember I couldn't fit one more thing inside that car. It was packed floor to ceiling.

    engine weight

A20 doesn't weigh that much, the B20A weighs the same and thats all ally, i wouldn't have imagined B16 would be that much lighter, maybe if your not running P/S, A/C which would save quite a bit, my 2G lude with stock U.K. B20a runs high 15's? and that has everything on board including A/C which is dead rare for a old U.K Honda!! Mind you B20A has more torque than a B16 ;0)
