Just purchased a 88 LXI 4door

I recently purchased an 1988 Accord and it was running pretty shitty, hence the bargain basement price. I took it home and found a multitude of little things to fix, one of which was the oil was very very low. Almost dry. I swapped out the oil and oil filter and it ran noticably better and quieter. The air filter was very dirty and the plug wires were most likely the originial. I ohm'd out the wires and found the new ones were literally ten times better. Fresh plugs, wires, pcv, tires, alignment, and air filter later, this car drives very smooth. Hondas man, Hondas !

I just finished up replacing the plugs and added an injector cleaner with a full tank of gass for good measure. I am looking into SEAFOAM.

Another bad-ass thing is that the 88's carry the 4 x 100 lug pattern. This leaves more wheel options later down the road. I might think about adding a matched suspension kit. my 00 accord has a prokit/blues combo and my civic has an prokit/koni combo. I wonder if I can get away with a full suspension(non-adjustable) for under 300...

Enjoy the board and all the things you will learn. As you will find out, performance parts are few and far between for our cars. You will most likely be better off searching for used stuff.
