    Air Intake System

I've been looking around on the internet for an Air Intake and when I do come across an Air Intake, its for the LX models. Will a Weapon-R intake for an LX model fit my SE-i, or will I have to make one?

Must be a typo. There are no intakes for an LX. The carb poses problems. You can get that intake. It will fit your car. Better yet, post the link so we can see what it looks like so we can be sure first.

It will fit, but it's overpriced for what you get, Bloodlust had one and he wasn't really happy with it.

HostileJava, do you have any better suggestions for an intake? (not trying to be a smartass or anything)

for that price you can build your own intake. when i build my intake it cost me about $120 for K&N filter, AEM bypass, 180 deg piping, 90 deg piping and 3 piping conectors.
it took me about a day of work. I am a perfectionist. i had to make sure it fits nice and doesn't hit anything. sanded and painted.

the other choice would be to get 90-93 integra CAI on ebay. they are cheap and they fit with very little modifications.

if i was you, i wouldn't even bother with short air intake like weapon-R or someother cheap ones. all they do is suck hot air. You should get a real CAI.

You could probably get a cold air intake for less.
Stop searching for 86-89 accord parts... parts from other cars fit ours and they are much easier to find...

Ok, so if i bought this ( http://www.nopionline.com/nopistore/...Integra%201990 ) How many inches would i have to cut from it to make it fit? Would I have to move the battery to a different position?

I believe it needed to be cut in the middle at the bend and then rejoined at a slighty different angle. The battery will need to move over slightly to accomidate it. When I did Bloodlusts CAI (which replaced his weapon r) we turned his battery tray sideways and redrilled holes in it for the mount bolts.

I think I'll just buy an Intake from APC, AutoZone seems to have plenty of them that aren't for any specific model....

Ok...so, is the place where you hook up the Air Intake different in the 1990-1994 accords? If not then I could always just buy my friend's CAI. He has a 1993 Accord and he totalled it so he said he'd sell the intake to me. So would a 1990-1994 Accord CAI fit on my '89 SEi, without any major modifications?

.....oh yeah, I forgot to mention that I'm not permitted to use ebay anymore, since I screwed up several bids on accident.
