Brake rotors and pads

Both my front rotors and front pads are shot, my car's pretty much stock, engine wise, so should I go with stock rotors/pads, or should I upgrade to performance parts?
Cash is a slight concern, and the car is not drivable right now. I was thinking Brembo blanks and semi-metallic pads, but I'm new to the entire brake thing.

If it's just a street car I can't think of any reason to upgrade the brakes... unless you find an SEi in the local junkyard. Rotors are pretty cheap just about everywhere and you can get halfway decent pads for not alot of green. The Duralast pads at Autozone come with stainless shims already installed and are about $25 IIRC.

these are the two things you need for a good brake system for a stock car.

1. $15 rotors from autozone (or $20 depending on ur satisfaction)

2. $40 ceramic pads from autozone

This combination is what i have and there is no rotor overheating, or glazing. There is no hint of brake fade and it brakes good even if the rotors are cold or hot. Also, a good caliper wil always do a good job.

dont forget when bleeding the brakes start on front drivers side then go diagonal then the front passenger side then diagonal....

No, that's false. You're supposed to start with the brake furthest away from the master cylinder and then bleed the next closest etc. You should start with the right rear, then left rear, then right front and finally left front.

Actually the FSM recommends the following sequence:

driver's front
passenger's rear
passenger's front
driver's rear

So the noobie is right.

Perfect. I wasn't sure of the sequence and didn't want to say the wrong thing so I looked in the Honda Repair Manual and that's what they said. I remember I first bleeded by brakes the wrong way (backs and fronts) since I am so used to my 75 malibu's brake system, but then a huge bottle of fluid later, combined with fluid all over the garage, I remember that my car has a diagnol braking system. But unless you open up a brake line you shouldn't need to bleed the brakes.
