    Exclamation Need good 12" subs

I keep on getting stuck with bad subs that blow out after a month or two. I have had jl audio, pioneer, redzone, and subsonic. I need a good brand. Tell me what your preferences are on some subs and a website where I can check them out.Thanx
Question: Have you been working on your car lately? Does your car look like mine(Stock)? If you answered yes to both of these questions you have failed a 3geez owner.

I had JL's in the past and they impressed me. I heard the new W6 and W7 in a store last week and the W6 still sounds nice. My JL's were stolen and i have Infinity and to be honest its not impressive at all compared to the JL which is pretty much the same price level.

Also i had my JL's for like 4-5 years of abuse and they never failed me.

Boston Acoustics Pro 12.5LF (will have to find them NOS or used as they have been replaced with these (which are also very good)):

if you keep blowing out subs after a month or two, it sounds like what you need is a good amp.

    Deffenitly Jl audio

What you need is a pair of 12" w6's run off the 1000/1 class (?) D amp.

If you really have heard every common brand out there, then you know JL is the absolute best on the market. I cant justify paying $700+ for a w7
But they are the best sub to come out to date IMO.

Basicly man, it sounds like your running to much power to these subs your buying.

If you have JL's set up right, you wont ever blow them, Nore will you ever want another brand again.

I personaly have had 2 12" w6's run by a Phoenix gold 600w amp and i was in complete awe at how much better they were compared to my fosgate hx2

I dont mind your comment because you said IMO.

But man, just between me and you, How come best buy carries such lower end audio brands in the Car audio department? They carry the nicest home A/V but i was quite let down when i checked out the car audio section

i'm personally fond of infinity drivers, but if you don't mind going out of the ordinary, adire and elemental designs are great...

i'm sure if you're blowing drivers in a couple months, you need an amp suited to what you use the subs for and for the power the subs can handle...

what amp are you running, if i may be so bold?

I SECOND THE BAD AMP THEORY i have 2 old school JBLs that have seen nothing but abuse and still sound as good as the day I bought them and I have ALWAYS "over-powered" them (i.e. get an amp who's RMS output matches or just beats the rated power of the sub).

for a good sub yeah boston kicks ass also the MB quarts are great for budget minded bass get some cerwin vegas, kicker comp vrs, or pioneers
