Do those floor bars actually help?

I was thinking about getting one but I dont want to spend $50 for a piece of tubing in between the front and rear seats.

What do you guys know about these or have any input?

These would probably do more for you...
Tie c-pillar Bars... the cross and the triangulated one....

The floor seems like a waste to add a brace.

the floor pan is sturdy enough to hold the chassie twist. Most twist happen on C and B pillars due to lack of a study connection bwt the either end. Luck y for the A pillers they got the fire wall. B pillar (shoulder belt bolts) bars made by sparco are actually a smiple way to minimise body twist and also the C pillar bars help the rear axle geomery in corralation with the top half of the unibody.

If any, just get the C and B pillar braces and forget about the floor one. For heaven sake we got the rear seat bench (the top shroud for the gas tank) i dont know who they are trying to fool. those bastards.

It adds support to the side portion of the car. Any support is good especially if you are broadsided.

Since when do you concider passengers? Screw them, if they wanna complain, they can find another ride

It's pretty cheap for the amount of metal, it seems. But would it make enough of a difference to be worth sacrificing the space and stuff?

If looks is your thing, it will add nicely to the aesthetics!

But you already stated your knowledge of its benefits, which are none other than the above stated...

not to bring back anything from the dead, but has anyone ever tried welded in braces that go UNDER the floor pan? It seems the hatch backs, having a longer distance between the A pillar and the B pillar could use some help there. ON the sedans you have the extra pillar closer due to having four doors.
