What % Tint Do You Recommend?

Well I'm getting the 3gee tinted in the latter of this month, and I was wondering what you all thought was a good tint percentage? I want it fairly dark though to prevent that damn sun from eating away my interior.

That's got to be the cleanest living DX I've ever seen.

5%, thats what i got and i love it. You can stare at people in your car and they cant tell hahaha. but you'll need to check the legal limit, because here its 5%, other places its higher or lower, so check

    EDIT
but you'll need to keep your tint in mind when riding with other people, i have a bad tendincy (spelling?) to stare at people in my friend's cars, and people stare back -_-

go with the state recomendation to avoid PO PO harrasment and problems. but i think you can go with 5% on rear windows and you aint supposed to put anything on the front windows, but i put 35% on the fronts and now after a few long months of waiting, it is fully cured film tint on the windows. the damn cops cant tell if it is factory, film, or dipped. so if you are gonna get anything for the front, get ready to keep them down foe a few months until they fully cure, even tho they say in 2 weeks it will be done. lol dont listen to them, you will notice the difference when i say cured.

    here we go:

    TintDude.com

    http://www.andersen.af.mil/36SFS/tintfaq.htm

thats all i can get for now.

funny how in the second one it shows no limit in california, but the first one says 70% lol, damnit which one is it. But anyways they have numbers listed in the second one to call in your state to find out what the current % of tint are allowed.

If you're getting it mainly to block out UV (which does most of the damage/fading to the interior over time), it doesn't have to be dark. Good effecient window film will reject 99% of the UV regardless of shade. I have 50% film on all my windows on the 4th gen and Mustang (except the windshield) and I never get pulled over, gives it a nice classy shade, it still gives me great vision at night, and I can notice the heat rejection.

I'd recommend using a dealer that installs Madico film. I have it on all my cars and have nothing but good stuff to say. Here's their spec sheet.

i have 20% on the sides and back and 80% on the front with a 8" strait visor. Its perfect IMO, you can see shadows of people inside if your really close and at the right angle. At night you can't see in from the outside but you still can see out really well, if it was any darker i don't know if i would like it.

    just my .02

p.s. if you have dark interor unlike me and no sunroof you can go lighter like a 25% or even a 30% so you don't get cops pulling you over. I haven't had any problems with mine and i have been pulled over twice for other things. I just bring down the windows (both front and back) on the drivers side before he gets to the car.

I live in oregon and we have a 35% limit, NO windshield tint, and 4" visor.

I have seen alot of cop cars with darker then 35%

i'd go with the darkest tint legal to avoid police harrassment...

that being said, i would rather have my windows smoked than tinted... new glass installed, too

Thanks all for the input. Looks like I'll have to research on the legal limits of Arizona. I think a fairly dark tint on a white car will look appealing. But yeah, the major reason is to block the UV from my interior, the look is just an added bonus. I'll research and get back to you guys on this one.

Alright, it looks like there is no limit for my back windows, but the 2 front ones are limited at 35%. I'll go as dark as I can for the back, and 35% in the front. Anyone have this set up that I'd be able to view on their car?
