this is a custom CAI i did for my car last summer. you can see AEM bypass valve. it allows you to drive in the winter and water. even if your filter gets soaked wet, the valve will open up and the engine won't suck up any water.
oh yeah, CAI gave me very nice power gain.

92-95 civic/delsol (d-series) short ram fits with a an inch or so cut off. You can always just attach a cone filter to the throttle body. I would recommend a 90-93 integra cold-air intake with a bypass valve if your really worried. I have alot of rain around here and the only horror stories I EVER hear about people hydro-locking their engines is when they submerge the filter, otherwise no problems with cai's. You can get the short ram on ebay for about $30 shipped, the cai is about $40 shipped but if you want the bypass valve they cost about $45 since the only one you should get is the AEM. I had the short ram on for about a year and noticed a good power increase when I installed the cold-air in its place.

if you want a short ram, go on ebay and get one for the 87 prelude. same engine(a20a3). has all the vacuums and no mods needed.

    cold air = better

short ram = engine bay heat

its up to you but i would do like shep said and just get a bypass valve. i think jegs offers them.
