Thread: how can i put in a cold air intake?

    Question how can i put in a cold air intake?

    Im thing about puting a cold air intake in my 88 Accord LX but i don't know how to take off the stock air filter and connect a coldair intake to it, so if anyone ca give me any hints it would help. thanks.

    you will have to custom make a cold air intake or mod a 93 teg intake and you might want to think of upgrading to a 2.25 catback instead of 3

    y a 2.25 instead of 3 and what mods would i have to made to use a 93 integra?

    your going to have to eliminate the whole airbox, and build an intake straight off the carb. good luck, im trying to make one now too.

    thanx. im bein helped by a friend of mine and he say that im goin to have to mount the carb. but we're not sure what to use. any sugestions?

    why go through all the trouble?

    just get one of these, they bolt right in in less than 30 mins in your garage, Honda Accord Intakes

    Those will mostlikely not bolt right on to your LX the bolt right on to an LXi

    say if i was make my own intake, would using astainless steel radiator hose work the right way?

    i would still like to know how u got the intake to stay in place, does it lock to the top of the carb and if so how?

    well I used really long 8mm bolts to lock it down to the carb

    i just made the cup with a crimped bottom, and left the original rubber seal on the carb, and it locks tight.

    see the little lines on the cup, down at the bottom the metal is bent in/out alternating to make for a tighter seal.
