Lightbulb My brain is at it again... full bodied coilovers..

I have read much of the discussion to do with other cars suspensions fitting on our cars etc... and I was always really interested in a full body coilover setup for my car.

So i was thinking, the majority of those coilovers at their max height still lower the car about 1.5" on average, and then go all the way down to 3.5" or more.

So, depending on the application, i know that the EF civic and 4th gen accord struts are no more then an inch or two taller then the 3rd gen's.... so, in reality, if you put the coilover in, it would sit at about stock height to begin with, and could still lower the car about 2-2.5".

I know that this could work for the front of our vehicles, but I have not had a chance to look into lengths of rear shocks from other applications.

Now, I know there is one member currently doing the civic suspension swap... So I think it would be awesome if we could get measurements from people who have the cars, or parts of other cars like the DA/DC integra's, the EF/EG civic;s, and the 4th/5th gen accords.

So, if you have any measurements or input feel free to post.

I believe the front of the EF civic struts is about 1/2inch taller. This means that the struts when put into our car will have 1/2inch less suspension trabel than it was intended to have. There is an idea about full bodied coilovers with strut housings that are shorted and it could POSSIBLY work. Definitely Omnipowers seem to be a good candidate as the strut housing is adjustable for height. As for the rear, I'll probably mess around with my buddies EF since he most likely will get some coilovers in the near future.

R&D is great, but very few people have the time and money to go out and buy diff stock suspension setups to see what works.

Justin has got the most R&D in, but so far his mods wouldnt be workable for the average weekend mechanic. damn i needs me a shop.

Ya, I used to work at a parts store, so i did some research for the front suspension there.. did some measuring, comparing to the stock 3rd gen suspension.

Now I need to find time to get back there to look into the rear... if the civic stuff is close, I'd almost be willing to buy some and if it didnt work out i could always sell them... just finding that out would be an awesome asset... but i figured some people here might know.
