I am having the bottem end built right now, but I can't decide if I should go all motor or if I should build for a turbo. I got the whole LS motor for $175.00 from a junk yard and it had a floted valve. If you piece the motor together you can get it for much cheaper. I was going to assemble the bottem end myself, but I was a little worried about everything working out alright. So I decided t have that part done at a shop.

Your telling me, I have been looking all around for a head and this was the best price I found, the only things that dident come with it are TB and Dizzy.
Well I don't want to do the hydrolic clutch convertion, so I will have to go with a cable tranny. I am going to use the LS, becasue the b16 gears are just to small.

are you kidding me, look around at the price for any DOHC vtec head. They are becoming more and more rare with the K-series coming into the scene. The GSR with tranny is over 2k so the head comes out to be a good price.

I think you payed a decent price, but are you keeping that manifold? If so its going to cause problems because of its odd design. I recommend you get a Skunk2 manifold for it or something similar that has a more friendly design to our engine bay. In which case using a GSR head is kind of pointless because you spent 400 on a head that you cant use the mani + another $200+/- for a new mani so $600. I have seen numerous b16 heads on G2IC and Hondatech go for like 300-350, anyway have fun...

Thank for all the replies. My only thing holding me back now is the wireing harness. I have somebody making one for me, but I have the feeling it is going to be very expensive, so that will set me back for a little bit.

I know about the mani, I used to have a 2000 GSR and the manifold leans down instead of going up or stait back, when I got my skunk2 manifold for it I noticed a huge differnece in the top-end performance of the car due to the fact that I dident have dual runners anymore. I have looked around at the head on h-t and ebay and most of them are not located in TX so I would have to have them shipped to me and that might end up costing alot more in the long run. Either way I got out for a steal with a working head.

    P.S. I got this one off H-T

Well I think I am going to have to install a camera, because I want to see the look on peoples faces when I race them. All the shop owners that I have talked to around here just looked at me and said, that is going to be one hell of a sleeper. It's gonna take a while to get it looking good on the outside, because I am going to need to do the rear disk convertion (cause the whol;e brake system needs work) after I get the motor in. Then I will get my slipstreams and start preping the car for paint, I was going to go panda, but I really like this color now so I am going to stick with it.

yeah man... your local shops will eat a car like that up and actually want to get thier name associated with your car... if you start racing that car at a track and winning, you might have a local shop wanting thier sticker on your car...

think of all the civic guys coming in and saying "you can make that old POS fast, make ME fast"

Thats what I am hoping for, some sponsorship would really help getting thing flowing it might even help to produce more mounts and performance parts for these cars also.

well, you're not really gonna get any companies to build us new hardware, but you may get a discount on parts for your car, or even come out with some for free, just to have some shop's name on your car somewhere...
