    timing belt tensioner question

    Can this be adjusted with the covers and everything on the car?I just got everything back together and the tensioner side is tight but the back side has a little slack in it.Thanks again everyone

    The tensioner can be tightened by tightening the bolt with the 12mm head that goes through its center. It sticks out through the timing belt cover.

    A little slack on one side of the timing belt is normal. The tensioner doesn't exert much force on the belt. It doesn't have to since it is a cog belt.
