The 89 EX-i disks are larger so they won't work. You need 86-87 EXi or 86-89 LX disks.

I have the same problem with my 86parts car vs 88 driver: the front brakes and hub are different...Oh well..
Other than that, you can get the rotors machined if they have enough material left on 'em.
