    unreplaceable parts

Don't ever buy a 3rd generation carburated Accord. There are certain parts that if they break when you take them off you cannot replace them. I broke the EGR tube and I cannot find one anywhere, not even the dealer. Also the starter needs to be replaced and they said I cant get a new one.

Why in the hell couldn't you replace a starter? It's a major component. If replacement parts weren't sold, you probably wouldn't see a 1/4 of these cars on the road.

sounds like the dealer just wants you to buy a new car... try Majestic Honda. and for the starter... checkers had one pretty cheap.

junkyards = #1 source for odd parts
starters, brakes, etc you get at any auto parts
Also, you'd be surprised what Honda can special order. I had to order needle bearings for the automatic and they were able to special order them for me for like $25 a piece

They can't order the stuff that was considered "optional" like ths cupholders.... even if it came from the factory on the SE-i. Well, they could order it back in the days but the supply of parts has ended and stopped making them.

Yeah same thing to get the starter to work between automatic and manual transmissions, just change the front end of the starter casing and everything else bolts up.

every car sold in the USA has replacement parts support. its part of the law and its always been done. cars from the 50s and 60s having parts support has to mean something. So check your honda dealer for parts if u need it. Besides, starters can be purchased at Autozone. I got a full bodied Aluminum starter from the junkyard for 10 bux and it was less than a month old, even had the barcode on the bottom of it.

PS: Its Irreplaceable, not unreplaceable. lol. Just busting ur chops :-P

nope, for lifetime. It does not matter. If it was manufactured and sold in the US, then it will be made for every single car thats out there. besides, 3gs were manufactured in the US.

This source is actually from my family mechanic who worked at Honda and now is a Service Manager with LandRover.
