How to check 97 accord ECU codes?

Looking for someone that can tell me how to check a 97 accord ECU codes. Is there a way like on the 3rd gens? Or do you need a scanner?

there should be a jumper in the engine bay for adjusting the ignition timing. shorting out this jumper will cause the "Check Engine Light" to flash. count the flashes and you have your codes.

umm not sure if you can still do that, its obd2, so id reccomend you get an obd2 reader and plug it in (borrow one)

OBD2 reader is the best thing you can get. it will tell you everything what is wrong with the car.
