    What Is It !!!

The little black square thing that is mounted next to the coil, looks like some kind of resistor or something, hooks into the wiring harness and goes to the dist. Do I need to hook it up as well when I change over to an aftermarket coil ??? What is it ???? what does it do ??? Can I remove it ???? Just want to make sure. 86-89 honda accord A20A3 FI motor

yes, its the ground isolator. keeps your speakers from whining with the alternator. The FAQ that tells you how to install the coil also shows you how to wire up the ground isolator.
