Measurement of Cibie Front Fog Bracket for 86-87 Bumpers (56k warning may be)

I just finished drawing the measurement of Cibie front Fog bracket for 86-87 bumpers. It is my preference that I wanted install the light (mine is long range driving light actually) securely so that I can fly in the pitch dark rather than mere decoration.

I draw this based on info from my friend who has optional bracket made by French company Cibie and then I made a pair of copy bracket myself. It has enough flexibility to decide the position of light freely but onece it is securely installed, it is solid as stone thanks to the three point fix.

These are the bracket I fabricated. These are for one side - I need two pairs of these in total. The left one is to decide holizontal position and the right one decide the vertical position of the lights. Due to the long slot for each fixing point, it was quite easy to adjust the position of the lamp. Material I used is 304 stainless steel 25mm x 3mm flat bar and welded with TIG. The original Cibie was made out of 3mm thick mild steel. I made out of flat bar but you can also make out of sheet by cutting out and bend. If you use alternative size of flat bar like I did, you better use narrower one not wider one becasue the indicater light is sitting very close to the bracket and the bumper support area is also very tight.

This shows how flat one sits in the right hand side of the front bumper. It is the view from the indicator aperture. The flat bracket is fixed on top of the bumper support with two bolts. It sits as if OE parts - may be OE bracket is quite simillar. All the bolt were already there. I am not sure if the later model 88-89 bumper have the same.

This pic is through the aperture under side of the bumper for fog lamp. You can see the lower end of the flat bracket which meets the other bracket fixed lower bottom of the bumper bracket. This meeting point is where the fog light is fixed. With the combination of these two bracket you can change and adjust the position relatively freely.

After fitting the lights. I adjust the length of the bracket so that the light sits as far back as possible - in my opinion that looks better than sticking out to the front. Also it looks nice to fit as close to the under side of the bumper as possible. Then you need to connect the wiring referring to somewhere in the 3geez but I recommend to use electric switching relay which will maximise the brightness of the light.
