Ground control + Koni Reds (non adjust) OR...

With my tax refund getting here shortly I'll have a couple bills to spend. Definately wanting the GC springs, every forum I've been to for my cars has always had GC's come out on top. Therefore Ive become a fanboy of them, plus the rear rate is amazing, definately something I want.

I was going to look at the Koni Yellows but when I had my sunfire and I was into tuning I was gonna do the suspension with GC and yellows, but the yellows require much more work to install and I dont really need adjustable, I just want something stiff, so I'll save that money and put them towards some civic HX rims.

My old boss has a some-what tuned civic SIR (2000-2002 ish) and he had some nice struts, he bought them, paid to get them in but didnt like them and he ended up paying to put his stock ones back on, and he has those struts just sitting there with <200km on them. Just curious if those would fit my car, I know he'd give me a deal on them. I cant remember the brand, but it sounds like an imported name. Not KYB or tokico (ebay junk?). Ah well, they are good ones, but I doubt theyd fit. Just thought it was worth it to ask.

But anyways, back to the Reds. I dont need to get them re-valved do I? I was reading on here and saw that some struts needed to get re-valved.

I was looking on ebay for prices and availability online but I couldnt find anything below a 4g accord. Where would be a good place in Canada to get a price quote for the reds/GC's (assuming they are bolt on)

I may not seem like a total noob to cars, but when it comes to suspension I hardly know anything. I'm a gear head and I dont exactly "major" in suspension. I appreciate your help.

    A few PS questions:
Are there really alot of differences between different yeared cars for struts?
    ^^^ same with springs?
Are they any other cars that have the same suspension as us and we can use aftermarket stuff from those cars?

try the koni groupbuy in the marketplace...

Konis are all sold out? Bastards.

By the way, I hate the negative camber look of lowered cars, its too much of a rice stereotype for me. I'm thinking 1.5" drop is more than enough if I'm dropping. What do the GC's drop? And can I put those rubber things (excuse the bad terminology, again, not good with suspensions) to "space" the spring out a little more if it drops 2", I can make it effectively only lower 1.5?

HEHE, I got a set of front Koni's like a month ago from Malaysia, the last set they had... 1.5inch drop puts you in the market for H&R's or Neuspeed springs... Check the sticky thread about spring rates for the rates and drops of all of the springs.

Yeah I saw that, but they arent stuff enough for me. I need the back end really tight and GC's are my best bet so it seems. Would those rubber damper-type things work with the springs to have them not drop so much? What do the GC's drop anyways? Maybe I can live with it, but I dont want inside wear on my expensive tires, and I hate the - camber effect

If you mean those things they sell in autoparts stores that cost like 10-12 dollars which you sit in between the coils wouldnt recomend that.
