    Re: b20a ECU help

Paying for any ECU with VTEC is a waste of money. Just get a P06 or P75. Far more common, and cheaper. They can also be converted to VTEC if you need it for some reason. Also, a VAFC or SAFC is a waste of money. Why use a crutch that works *most* of the time, when Crome and Uberdata allow you do everything internally with just the ECU?

    Re: b20a ECU help

Well, I just got this ECU
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWN%3AIT

I got it mostly because I want to compare it with the PK2 ECU in term on internals. No one on 3geez reported to have an 88-89 PH3 ECU ao I wanted to get better knowledge on it.

I already got a P06 and a conversion harness to go OBD-1. I guess I will do different Dyno runs with the Pk2 and PH3 ecu to see if they have any power curve difference.

    Re: b20a ECU help

I've already tried, but was unsuccesful to gain that power. I was also having problems with the EGR system since I didnt have it on my B20A2.
I found that I lost a good bit of power instead.

I swapped from a B20A to my B20A2: cams, exhaust manifold, distributor and crank sensor and PH3 ecu.

    Re: b20a ECU help

In my opinion, yes a waste of time. I think the best thing to do, is to get the distributor and crank sensor from a b20a (or from a 88-91 lude B20A7 engine) and then convert the ECU harness to OBD1 and run a chipped programmable ECU.
Another option is to use the ecu from the 88-89 lude B20A7 engine, since these engines doesnt use EGR or O2 sensors either. You will still have to get the other distributor and crank sensor.

    Re: b20a ECU help

Well I'm not sure since when I did that I lost power instead of getting more power. But I'm not sure if that was because I couldnt get the EGR system bypassed.

Which means that I still havent figured out what seperates the B20A from the B20A1/2 in terms of power output.
