Another cool front end too is an evo 5 or 6 front. Not the current evo 8's though.

heh, i guess i should take that as a compliment that you think it was all one car originally but it's not.. i just used the bumper and some of the sides (to get the curved edge to the hood)

the hood, glass, side mirrors and roof are all original, though i did add some texture to the hood and tint the glass

what do yall think about post #42? hehe

here's the original bmw for comparison

    Thumbs up

Keep up the good work. Too bad all of the front ends that you guys have used aren't as easy to modify for real. The front end of my car is more narrow than even your 3gees. I believe its 3 inches narrower from wheel to wheel. I'll have sometime tomorrow to actually put my front end back together. After I take some pics I'd like your advice on how I should detail and finish the front. I'm planning on stealing some pieces of Prelude to put into the car too, 2nd Gen Lude seats most def! I think I'm going with an 83' Accord gauge cluster, they're less crowded than the 84-85s, and it would be a direct drop in. I wanted to go with an 88 civic or 3gee Accord cluster but the mod work isn't worth the effort.

if your car is that narrow, maybe a crx front would work. they make some decent bodykits for crx's, if you are into that.

the 83 accord guage cluster is awesome. i had to work on an 83 accord hatch ... a bucket, for sure... but i really liked the dash set up! the car was cute, though.

Yeah it still reminds me of a BMW 3 series. Kinda like that Ford Escort with the same front end on Pimp My Ride.

Actually I was looking for pictures of it and came across a blog written by one of the people that works at WCC and he said in the process of building the escort the Head Gasket blew and they had to replace the whole engine. SO that chick got out pretty good on that deal.

Hmm WCC doesn't have a time limit on how long to do their cars, do they? Unlike Overhaulin' where they have to do it all within a week. I think Pimp My Ride is all cutscenes put together. Probably takes them long to do a car cus they have a shop to run and other high-paying clients to satisfy. I think that's why you only see like 3 or 4 episodes in one season being re-run over and over.

I would have to agree with you on that one. For a show made by MTV, the quality is not that good and I have read many palces that the MTV people "prepare" the car for the show. Most of the cars are not as bad of condition as they appear on the show. The guy with the 240 said they came to his house and jacked with the bumpr and pulled alot of the wireing in the car to make it hang down. All in all I think they did a good job with the concept of the show, but they should make one that is a little more performance orianted. Like have crappy cars brought to a shop and see how much power or what performance mods they can do to it.

P.S. Sorry to get off topic so much

Yeah like that black eclipse was too busted to be someone's daily driver. No one in their right mind would allow themselves to drive the car like that. I thought it was the owners themselves busting up their cars after MTV called them up and said their car is gonna be on the show. Or people picking up their rusty grandparent's cars or cars from the junk yard.

Anyways, back to the topic. Someone do a CRX front end on that 2gee with the Wings West bodykit front.

Cool Aye dios mio, no tengo los ojos!

Alright fellas. Nice work on those photoshop shots! I saw some good and somenot-so-good but here's the real deal. This is the first time that I've remounted the bumper since the car died. It's not totally squared up but this it the custom bumper I bought NOS for my 84' Let me know what you think.

Also try and fill in the eyes if you're so inclined. I wanted to see what it would look like with projectors or some bad-ass rally clusters. I'm probably gonna keep the front black when I paint the car. I was planning on a two-tone paint job: british racing green (or sonic blue) top with black or graphite spray-on bed liner around the bottom below the trim line.

Oh yes I'm aware of how Euro-rally wannabe the front looks with that Euro plate...but its staying as long as it will pass as street legal (it's very reflective as you can see from my flash) It's a pre-EU issue plate from Holland circa 2000.

And if you wanna make some hood scoops to go with it:
