I cant find any posts about wiring for the stereo... like a wiring diagram?
87-lx with the regular honda factory system


and also if any wiring experts out there anyone know what colors the wires are under the dash for me to install an alarm system?

Nevermind about the stereo wiring, i checked my bookmarks for websites because i could have sworn i had seen a place with a lot of wiring diagrams..
i went to http://www.installdr.com has a nice section on 3g's stereo installation

you should be able to buy the addapter for this at walmart or any stereo store.

adapter eh? that would have been easier the 1st time i installed my stereo a while back, just need to redo it and forgot the colors of some of the wires

What are the Radio wire color codes?

Here are the color codes to hook-up a radio to your 3rd gen. I strongly recomment you buy an adapter that will allow you to keep your original harness but if it's already missing, cou can use this code

12v constant .....................white/yellow
12v accesory .....................yellow/red
12v ground ........................black
dimmer (lights) ...................red/black

Left front (+) .................... Blue/Green
Left front (-) .................... Grey/Black
Right front (+) .................. Red/Green
Right front (-) .................. Brown/Black
Left rear (+) ..................... Blue/Yellow
Left rear (-) ..................... Grey/White

that is similar to what i have but shouldnt there be a Power Antenna wire?
i noticed there isnt a wire coming out of the harness for it(from the diagram pictured on the stereo) but inorder for my amp to come on it needs to be hooked up to that wire.

I noticed there is a blue and white wire coming out of the taped up wire set going torwards the ciggerette lighter


Memory = (+12V Constant) Blue/White
Ignition = (+12V Switched) Yellow/Red
Ground (-) = Black
Illumination - Red/Black
Dimmer = N/A
Power Antenna = Yellow/White
Left Front (+) = Blue/Green
Left Front (-) = Gray/Black
Right Front (+) = Red/Green
Right Front (-) = Brown/Black
Left Rear (+) = Blue/Yellow

blue/white is usually the remote wire for amps.

yes on new stereo equiptment it is... are you sure its the same way for a car 15 yrs old.
on my new stereo it has its own p. antenna wire anyway (yes its blue/white)
