you could probably clean them up a little bit using a file. The brass is pretty soft as you've found. Were you using a flare nut wrench?

at first i used a regular 10mm wrench. then i found out the hard way that i need to use a box-end wrench. there's also a wrench specifically made for brake line nuts. i should get that one. anyways. i guess the only way to fix the stripped nuts is to but a whole new line from the dealer? or rip out some good ones from the junkyard?
can you just cut off the flared part of the hard line so you can slip the stripped nut off and put a new one in? then use a special tool to flare the line end open again so the new nut holds?
