I asked a friend of mine who had similar year model car and he never had this box and lines on his either when he did cold air intake.
I took some more pictures to give better idea of where the lines run to.
the hoses paths are marked in red.
I want that damn air box outta there.
I was thinking if I perhaps made the hoses longer and ran them into the cold air intake pipe? but I hate putting holes in it hehe![]()
If anyone has any suggestions please feel free to voice them
Thanks
Mike

im not sure what that is but i would suggest getting a "T" conector and plug the hoses comiing from the air box into a bung coming off the CAI, just make sure that whatever the run to wont mess up when doing this ( dont thinik you should have a problem)

-To drift a car is to create reckless art
id almost bet its just a breather... youll need to do as b8er posted though, either drill a 2nd hole into your intake, or put a T connector in.
yeah the 87's have that. it's a vacuum line for the idle air control valve. all you do is run longer tubing directly straight to the intake manifold from the idle air control valve. you can get rid of that along with the air filter box.
I have the same thing on my 89 Accord Si.
When i put my short RAM intake on i put a second hose coming from the intake tubing and into that little box.
If i left the hose disconnected the car ran rough so i left it there.
Thanks alot for all the help.
