    LX-i Top Speed

    Does anyone know what the top speed of a 1987 Honda Accrod LX-i is¿ I would find out my self but I need new tires.

    that depends on the car condition right now ! you can get the prochure specs of course ! but unforunately i don't have them !

    Brochure? I really don't think it list's top speed. Besides the one I've seen also said the sedan is more areodynamic then the hatchback, which doesn't make sense.

    The fastest I went with my 86LXI was 127mph.

    thats downhill right? i doubt you were really going 130, im sorry,... especially since you have an 87 lxi which also has 10 less horsepower then the 89's. the fastes ive gone on a flat surface! was 120

    i got my 89 LX-i doin 128 on the highway a few weeks ago.... wow that was fast. i was only runnin around 5400 rpm too

    No I was doing the pikes peak hill climb .

    Yeah your right I wasn't doing 130 it was 127, and it took me over 4 miles to get it. Otherwise I can only manage about 115 before I run out of road, given more space I know I can go faster, been their done that. surely you don't think all the body styles have the same drag coeffecient.

    depends if you have a 5spd or auto too, with a 5spd you can get up there pretty quick but with an auto you will be waiting all day...

    MY LxI made 110 and i was kinda afraid to take it any faster as i have a relativley new engine in it. Maybe i'm a wuss....oh well

    in my 88 LX the fastest I've been is 203 kph which is about 127 mph I believe... on the Trans Canada Highway... nice and straight

    Cool

    I pulled 105 up a hill in 5 th, before all my mods... so i know that 110 -120 is possible... but 130 i don't know about unless you've got headers & intake & exhause and a good tailwind!

    just dont get excited and do something. just be very careful. after looking at the S2000 crash video in the old post. i am freaked out whenever someone says they wanna try the max of our cars. Just make sure everything on your car is reliable and watch out for any animals or mainly cops. Be safe man and good luck

    I dont know what the conversion is but my accord LX maxed out at 225km/h, dunno what the conversion is for miles... took forever to get there, but it did it! I'll post the pic sometime soon..

    225km/h converts to 140mph I found this hard to believe not that I don't believe you maybe downhill with a tailwind j/k

    pics are on the way... I just dropped the camera off at the photo place. Disposable camera... I lost my digital
    It was on a slight downhill, but a LONG straightaway.. dunno bout' the wind. The speedo only goes to 220km/h..

    my 87 will do around around 115 in fourth ive done 130ish so 140 does not seem that far fetched unless you have some misterious problem with fifth gear or have no significant upgrades
    hmm and you thought the reverse polarity of the sun made you loose to a 3rd gen accord

    I've done 126 on flat Highway 5 lanes wide. Never have had the chance to go faster. It also took it's time gettin there too.
