if you clean the areas very good you wouldn't need any sealant. any manifold gasket should be enough to seal it. if you have to use silicone sealant you have some major warpage.

i noticed everyone has said the gaskets that come with pacesetters are worthless, should i use them anyway? and while i'm on pacesetters, has anyone that used the ball joint that comes with it bees satisfied, or should i definately go flex joint
i have a pacesetter header. i used their gasket and it worked just fine, if you blow it, the exhaust gasket is cheap anyway.
you don't have to install the flex pipe, but it may be nice to have it. since the exhaust may hit heat shield at some point. it never did on my car.

awesome thanks, i just got a jet hot coated pacesetter and i am gonna do alot of gringing and cutting...man those things are sloppy- since you have one, if you have FI did you cut off the other pipe or just cap it. I'm going to cut it completely off and weld in a small circle of steel to fill the whole and put alot of weld on it and also cut off the part of it that stickes into the headers. I'm also going to do a better job of port matching....too bad i gotta grind off all the jet hot in those areasOriginally Posted by shepherd79
