Polyurethane Motor Mounts?

Hey guys, just wondering bout these motor mounts. Went looking yesterday and no dice. Nobody makes any for our cars which wasnt a surprise but anyways. I was just wondering how hard would it be to make your own? and where would I get the polyurethane to do it? just a local hardware store? then cut it out so its the same shape and replace them? or is there a ton of work that I'm not aware of? My buddy with his civic told me he replaced motor mounts and it was a great difference, he chirpped in second just by replacing them with polyurethane ones. Any input would be nice.

Im planing making my own for the fact im going turbo........Im just going to fill my stock ones since there in good shape. With Window Weld Not hard at all.

Yup, and windshield stuff works fine. That's what I did and it's very stiff.

fill the rear tranny mount and the timing belt mount with 3m Window weld, works great. I welded my front mount so its a solid one, works much much better. Now i need a solid dogbone mount too

I welded metal around the mount, it still bolts in like normal, it just doesnt flex. Mine broke in half originally.

actually, its not as bad as it sounds, the extra vibration isnt too bad. It actually has made the car easier to drive, instead of the engine/tranny moving around in between shifts, now shes pretty stable, so its easier to nail shifts

i could only find 3m window weld at carquest. Dont use anything else but 3m window weld

if you want a solid dogbone mount, get one from an automatic and fill it. the auto bushings have lots of room to squeeze the window weld into and it's easy to pull the sides back when you fill it. it comes out rock solid.

Yeah i think imma try that. Either that or weld the thing solid. I tried it with a 5sp bushing and it didnt work too well because the window weld never dried... it squirted out everywhere. You need to let the mounts sit and dry for at least 2-3 days or so

i've thought about making molds and casting my own from poly from mcmaster. i have a feeler thread in the marketplace on this. it's kind of cost prohibitive for me to start out because of the different mounts made for these cars. i still don't know what to do with the liquid-filled front mount. could possibly fill it with the poly. that or change the type of mount up there.

well, i want to keep some movement, so solid isn't really an option. i need to cut one apart on a band saw and see how they are formed and how much the poly would help.

so you leave the rubber stuff in there, just fill in around it with the 3M stuff?

that's exactly what they are doing. it's not really the best option, but it is the best BY FAR when it comes to bang for the buck in that department.

Alright well... true newbie question here just pre warning... What do you guys mean by Fill them ? with window weld? I looked at the mounts the other day... and what do you mean by Fill? Sorry if I sound stupid... and one other newbie question... how many mounts do we have? should I fill all of them?

Yeah, and after reading half of these posts lol I make sure I search thouroughly (if thats how to spell it) before i ask any questions. I dont wanna get flamed for something commonly asked.
