let's see some custom pedals
we all know that most of the after market pedal covers out there aren't worth a crap most of them are too big for our pedals or so cheap they break, let's see what you came up with. now if i could just come up with the #@%^& time to put mine in.would like to see some others too. i spend my free time thinking up these parts

i dont think anyone has done anything to their pedals like u have , those look realy good, i think the most that people have done are put those pedal covers, thats what i did lol...
yea i looked everywhere to try and find a set and everything out there was way too big. they were a pain to make i had to make patterns first then mill the aluminum then i had to bend them with a section of pipe on the press to fit the pedal contour. thats the second set i screwed up the first set. they are actually screwed to the original pedals with machine screws. i hate those strap kind they are too dangerous. now if i could just get the time to put them in i could hook up my cruise. i could stop doing the bent knee roadtrip blues. the only other cars i have ever seen where the pedals were this small were italian sports cars. makes sense because mr. honda loved italian cars.

i would if i had taken some pictures in order to do something like this you have to be able to run the old manual bridgeport machines. i guess you could bend some aluminum but in order to cut the notches they have to be milled out. when i get out of school in a couple of years want to pursue the chip foose route. he really thinks outside of the box, he could make anything i do look like kindergarden stuff. and he is old school too. would like to get enough money to buy a used bridgeport and lathe of my own. my uncle was a big time lathe operator at rockwell years ago before it closed down. i guess it's genetic. I've had people tell me you can eithier do it or you can't but i think with enough practice most people could learn how. you really have to learn to coordinate your left hand with your right or vise versa . did you get your nurse and cheese burger? hehe
could have used some of those bathtub fish things cut to fit

buy a thing of black magic grip tape at the local skate shop, and cut+fit... since im missing 2 of my pads anyway, plus i would have ultimate grippage with my DVS's
what i had thought about doing originally was using some of those feet pedals and screwing them to the pedal pads, but they were too big. this was a little more involved then just the pedal pads, i took the whole pedal assembly apart rebuilt all the bushings etc,powercoated all the metal parts, and made it basically a brand new assembly. it's just going to be a pain to put in need to do it though.
I was going to use skateboard tape. but I decided I wanted something cooler. I'll probably look into getting some Mugen Pedals.
and shush about them being expensive. I know they are, but I love their clutch and brake pedal (which is probably the only ones I'll be using)

Yes... they are very expensive and I had to send them a template to work from. I'll take more pics after I buy a new drill bit and put them in.

how do your's attach? and why is the brake pedal so big?
All 3gee brake petals are huge like that. I really don't mind it though, if I have to slam on the brakes, I better hope the brake petal is in the vicinity of where I stomp, ya know? I like the custom work Tim, good stuff though.

that's strange because my gas pedal is the same as my brake tiny is there some difference in the years? my doner pedal assembly came from an 89 lxi hatch and my 86 is the same. i would say auto but you've got a clutch pedal too or wait is that a dead pedal? all the three geez i've seen and i never noticed the size of the pedals in the auto vs. the manual.

of course the pedals are different duhautomatic manual it's been a long week already. i can't believe i asked why the brake pedal was different. they look great, i would have put a surface on mine but i didn't have the tooling to do it like that. do your screw into the pedal too?does that dead pedal assembly that is attached to come standard on the auto, i thought about installing one in my accord to rest my foot on.
Yes, the dead pedal is standard, was on mine anyway. I used 2 stainless screws with lock nuts for the dead pedal and brake pedal, self-tapping screws for the gas pedal (damn plasticky part, just kept the stock rubber cover on because it wouldn't come off, but it is VERY secure and doesn't affect the look, so ....).Originally Posted by lostforawhile

If anybody is thinking about getting these, UltimatePedals probably still has my templates for the auto. If you want manual pedals, or custom sizes, just trace out the outline you want w/ measurements, trace the curve of the pedal by putting some paper against the edge and drawing the curve, and send those to the store. I'm very pleased with these, they look great and they do feel better, too.
