    how to build a combination starter kill/safety switch.

    all right this one is for the guys on here who know electrical, because if you don't, you could really screw something up. after reading the post on the clutch switch, i've got an idea. you need a five pin bosch relay, the five pin because you need the normally closed side of the relay. the usual crimp connectors,electrical tape, a pig tail fuse holder with a low amperage fuse five or less, and the usual electrical supplies. the reason i'm using the five pin, is because of the way the clutch switch works. you need to find the wire coming from the ignition switch, going to the starter solonoid .try to hide the relay as far up as you can by the way,to make it harder to see. cut the wire and attach the end coming from the ignition switch to the common terminal of the relay. attach one wire of the pigtail fuse holder to this same wire, and connect the other end of the pigtail to one of the relay coil terminals. connect the other wire that is coming from the starter solonoid to the normally closed terminal on the relay. run a wire from the pinkwire on the clutch switch, to the other coil terminal on the relay. to connect your kill switch install your hidden switch and connect one of the switch terminals to ground. the other terminal will go to the same wire that is connected to the pinkwire. how does all this work you ask?? when the clutch is not pressed there is a ground at the pink wire. when you turn the key to start the car, this energizes the relay coil and opens the circuit to the starter. when you press the clutch the clutch switch breaks the ground to the relay coil. when there is no ground the relay stays closed letting current go to the starter solonoid. all your kill switch does is enable another ground path. as long as the relay has ground the car will never start. this will also work with alarms that have a ground output when armed. just tie into the kill switch circuit. just remember make sure you know what you are doing make sure all your connections are tight secure all wires and be careful. this affects your start circuit try to make it as high of a quality as the factory did. oh when your kill switch is in the onposition is when your car won't start.
