    A/C hp loss

My air conditioner doesn't work on my DX. I don't have the money to get it recharged with the R12 and the R134 conversion seems a bit pricy for my tastes so I was thinking of removing the A/C. Since the carbed model is underpowered anyway, I was curious to find out approximately how much hp is lost to spinning that compresser.

u can spend $40-$50 and do the R134 kit conversion urself. it's pretty easy if u wanna go that route still.

So I don't have to actually pull the compressor out, you say? Excellent. I'll do that and when I get money to get a conversion to R134, I'll put the belt back on.

don't go too long without though...

My mom waited a year or so to get her A/C recharged after it had a leak, but, in the mean time the oxygen had reacted with the parts on the inside of the A/C system, and they went bad and had to be replaced before the A/C would take a charge. Just something to consider, before letting it go to long before being fixed.
