    Drop Question.

Ok, so i was looking around for the answer to this question, and all i can really find to it is "your cars going to ride like crap". So heres my question.

Will the Tokico Premium Performance Struts be alright with the Neuspeed/H&R springs?

Im planning on buying the 1.5" Neuspeed drop springs, with the Tockico PP Struts up front, and HP Series for the rear. My true question is, will i tear up the struts super fast this way? Im sure its going to be a little bouncy, but im more concerned about killing my struts in 1-2 years.

Sorry if its already been answered and i missed it.

No, if you where going lower that 2 1/2" it would be a problem. Should be fine from what I know.

yah 1.5 inch drop isn't much of a problem, you shouldn't even need camber kits and control arms, just get an allignment.

Methinks that tokico only makes one 'performance' strut, the hp aka Tokico Blues. While the rear set will be stiff enough, the front won't be. bounce isn't actually that bad, but I'm sure the front set will go faster than the rear, though I'd think you'd be able to get 2 years out of a set, at least. I went almost one year on a set of monroe sensatracs (which are junk for lowering) with my H&R setup and then switched to tokicos. Only drove the car another 8 months or so before selling it, but everything seemed to be holding up just fine.

If you want to do it properly, no, the Tokicos are not good for the setup. However, considering the availability of proper shocks, cost, and the fact that the springs you picked are softer than the springs with a larger drop, Tokicos will work. They'll last longer than 2 years probably. You might get 4 or 5 out of them.

I think you'll be alright. Those springs you want arent THAT stiff. So I'd say do it. I'm on tokicos and DZ Coilovers, and the ride is um...tolerable.

yea, im mainly doing this because ill have around $750 to replace a tranny (hopefully with a 'lude tranny), strut mounts (front), suspension bushings, struts, springs, and still give the guy thats going to help me some money.

the springs you got, are the softest springs available and the struts are the same case. It will be matched up right and you wont have any problems with the bounce. as far as the camber issue, normally around 1" to 1.5" (depending on car) drop, you dont need a camber kit. Some 3g owners with 1.5" drop did not need a camber kit after alignment, while some even with a 1 ~1.25" needed one. So its really upto the numbers they pull out at the installation.

Not true. The H&R springs are 26% stiffer than stock and the Tokico shocks can take up to 15%. There will be some bounce but it won't be bad. It might not even be noticeable.

exactly my point. Its like matching up Konis and Progress springs. Progress springs are the stiffest springs available for our cars. (other one with 2.25" is higher, but the rears are lower, but u get the point).

The springs control the compression and the shocks control the rebound. So in a day to day basis, you will be matched up fine with the tokiko and h&R.

ps: unless the dampening rate is really high, which can be achieved from high end full bodied coilovers, getting a perfectly matched shocks/springs combination is really hard, when you look at the numbers alone.
