does anyone know if an 89 lxi hatch will fit on an 86 dx? and i don't mean drop one on top of the other, i've got rust in my dx hatch, i believe the hatch isn't original to the car, maby collision damage, the 89 lxi hatch i've got is in much better shape with no rust. the dam bump stop points are rusted out i could drill out the spot welds on the lxi and change them out with the dx,but maby i can just switch them. I'm doing my body work and this is one of the bad spots.
I think they should be the same, but i don't own a hatch or have never compared more than one to see if they are diffrent.
yea i'm hoping someone on here has done this it will save me a lot of trouble if it won't fit, i know 89 lxi doors won't swap

88 lxi 4dr, 5spd, threw a rod... in process of swapping engine from my 87 hatch (police recovered what was left of the car).
the fucker that sold me the 88 is lucky he lives 500 miles from me...

they have that extra latch thingy at the top of the dooryah the hatch should polt right up , and u also say that the doors are diffrent ? how could that be i thought the 2 door accords were pretty much the same from nose to rear of door
plus everything on the inside of the door is different. i think the door is a little longer. i know that the window trim from the lxi door won't fit properly on my dor.

they went to those seat belts attached to the door remember? they had to reinforce the doors and seats for that.
