    Return of the DTS Accord

Finally! It's almost done. All I have to do is wire up the rear crossovers and it's set. I built a new console for the processor out of a single DIN 3g console. Only downside is that I lost the cupholders. Ah well... Looks better this way (not perfect, but I will do more work to the console in the future.

Oh, one more thing before pics... I KNOW I NEED TO CLEAN THE 3G OUT.

Analog mode (if you could notice)... just a normal radio station.

Digital mode (once again, cant see much)... playing a DTS CD.

Closeup of the processor and the console. You can see there are a few flaws I need to deal with in the console.

Whole system, including the controller for the mp3 cd changer.

Once again, yes I'm gonna clean her out soon.

    It's great having tunes again.

Hoooo boy do I need a noise filter. The interference from the SCI ignition comes straight through. Other than that the sound is superb.

A DTS mobile audio setup, now that's awesome man. There is so much of a difference when listening to a home audio set up (Infinity Power Towers w/ Infinity surround and Dennon amplifier) in DTS vs. Dolby Digital. Is that how it is with mobile audio?

That's got to be the cleanest living DX I've ever seen.

The difference between normal audio and DTS on that system is like night and day. The guys at last year's MD meet were quite impressed by its clarity, which is exactly what I was going for. Unfortunately there is a serious lack of DTS audio CD/DVDs so my music list is limited. It will play *some* movies in DTS but due to the changes in the standard it can't deal with some of the newer movies. Anything imported works great. I've got Orbital's The Altogether in 5.1 which sounds incredible as well as a few select IMAX documentaries on DVD with DTS audio which also sound great.

The algorithm and coefficients for DTS decoding are stored on a socketed EPROM, so with any luck I'll be able to reprogram it to handle the newer standards. Now if I could only hack a rear center channel into the thing... DTS-ES, awwww yeah.

No fart cannon here. I got rid of that thing a long time ago. I'm using a Flowmaster knockoff (Thrush), nice and quiet but flows really well.

Cleaned up the car finally Purdy!

Also a shot of my final front/rear amp install.

Finally got the wires hidden and run through so it doesn't piss the amp off everytime it's opened and closed.

There are still many things that keep me from considering a carputer as of yet.

    I haven't seen the 7.1 spec for DTS yet. There's 5.1, 6.1 DTS-ES, and NEO6 that I have seen.

Show us the pics, I wanna see where you installed the centers.
