I have a line on getting a complete exhaust system from an 89 LXi to put on my LX...is there anything different on either that would prevent this?

i think the exhaust manifold (the part that bolts to the motor) is a 4-1 design on the LX and a 4-2-1 on the LXI. It all bolts right up, I have that on my 87 LX. The hangers and bolts are all the same

are coupe, sedan and hatches different thought, for exhaust pipe length, and hangers?

also, the LX has EGR, whereas the LXi doesn't.

You mean Air suction pipe, the EGR is standard on both.

Thnx POS Carb for the info (and everyone else).
Knowing that I can bolt it on from the exhaust manifold down helps when looking into this. tho it may be time to go the muffler shop and let them do their thing.
The LXi that I was looking at a parts car has a blown engine, and the guy is not ready to part it out - and he wants $650 it. Its a bit rusty for that price tag. Maybe if he can't unload he will consider parting out. I need a hood with the YR-94M Seattle Silver paint (as I do not want to pay for painting at this time) mine has clear coat flaked off most of it and some rust.
So the search continues for parts - I did end up with the 14" LXi stock alloy wheels with tires (80% tread) for next to nothing and a box of misc parts he had from an 86. This would be MOD over the nasty steelies on it now.

It won't bolt onto the exhaust manifold. You will have to replace that as well.Originally Posted by jman123
