i junked my idea of doing the two cylinder dual muffler. so today i bought some tubing 2.25"(10ft) and i bought 4u bends and a y pipe. im keeping the stock exhaust manifold on and from header back it's all 2.25 with no cat or resonator.I cut the flange off the header that was rusted through. and i used the tube bender at work (not mandrel but it works and only has minor crimps).and i ran 6 1/2 foot section into the Y pipe. ran 6" straight and then i cut the u in half and made a s end. then i added a 1ft straight pipe and then the muffler.as of now it's only tacked up tomarrow im gonna weld it all together and check all the seems and grind them and paint the exhaust all black till the two can mufflers.if it turns out to be real loud ill add a glass pack before the y bend to damper the noise.
im also working on another exhaust system for my friends 87 hatch.he wants a singal muffler with a resonator or two, and a large ractive muffler but he wants a smaller diameter pipe(about 2" pipe).
i will keep you posted and hopefuly next week i'll have pics.
