    Newest additions! (Large pic warning!)

I recently got a few new things... You were warned about the size! Watch out!

What's this? A tip? Can't be just a tip, can it?

It is just a tip! ...wait.. No its not, that pipe is bigger than stock!

Sho' nuff. That's my new Magnaflow muffler! It's 2.5". I didnt want it that big though. The piping behind the muffler is 2.5" as well, but it only runs about half way to the cat. I had a large hole in the pipes so i replaced the pipes as much as they were damaged.. I would have rather has 2.25" muffler and piping, but it sounds good. I'll keep the 2.5" muffler, but im eventually going to replace the 2.5" piping with 2.25" along with a cat and resonator.

    And next up!

Sub boxes! YAY! But are they empty?

Lets open the box! .. Nice saying on the inner flap.

    Nope! They weren't empty! Hooray!

Note the dual speaker connection.. Dual voice coil! Wooh!

I have a sub box that is going to get here soon, too. And when it does you can be sure i'll be putting them in the car!

    That is all.

Its not too bad.. I lost a bit of accel under 3k rpm's because of the size of the pipe. I'm going to need to downsize it about 1/2" eventually.

Kev, i can hook up the subs no prob.. I already bought a box for it for a few bucks off ebay. Custom made w/ 2 cubic feet per woofer. Not too bad.

I've been talking to Vanilla sky about a sub upgrade and whatnot, and MTX is more like my midway between great subs.

Me and Vanilla sky are trying to figure out the best way to hook up the subs though, because they're dual 4 ohm voice coils, and my amp is rated at 280watts x 2 bridged at 4 ohms. Though it's "seeing" 2 ohms because its bridged. Only problem is that if i run the single sub off of one wire, it pulls a 2 ohm load as well. Vanilla sky says that since its a 2 ohm load trying to pull off of a 4 ohm mono load that's "seen as 2 ohms", it will result in an actual 1 ohm load that my amp probably can't handle.

So im trying to think of a way to still be able to get the 280 watts per bridged channel without overheating the amp, but i don't think its possible.

@Kevin: Also note that i've learned alot about car audio since we last talked! I'm excited about it.. Also, i might start training at this local audio shop and possibly get a job there. BTW: Why aren't you on aim hardly at all anymore?

what kind of amp is it, you mean a 4 channel amp?
    if its a 2 channel,

with both your subs bridged, you only have the option of creating a 4 ohm or 1 ohm load.
if you have a 4 channel amp and want to bridge the front and back channels, you'll be able to see a 2 or 8 ohm load.

Nice muffler though. Tip looks like it should be on a chevy truck though.

I like it.. Heheh. As far as the subs go, i know how i can set them up now. I'm goign to hook them up in series making each speaker 8 ohms and then share the bridge between the two giving a 4 ohm load, OR i'll just give each sub its own channel, making a 2 ohm load and giving about 140 watts to each speaker. Either way they'll be getting the same power amount. Haha.

Sorry for the delay. I asked my friend and he has a JBL amp running about 100 watts at 4ohms to each sub. His subs are in the cab of his truck but, even with the small amount of wattage he's running they are insanely loud. So loud in fact that when he turns it up you can't hear any of the music just bass. So, that should definatley be enough.

Just an update. These subs POUND. Even at the wattage they're getting which is equal to the one 10" i had before, it's SO much louder, and a LOT harder! O_O

    I'm very impressed!!

I'll post up a pic of them installed later on.
