My Clear Lights Projector 56k'ers beware

Using a set of US lights I had with the coloured lenses cracked, I decided to use some boiling hot water to remove the lenses. Total time about 10 mins. To my suprise I find another set of clear fresnel style lense underneath. Quite nice looking ones actually. So I just need to get some coloured bulbs and get a set of clear plastic lenses made to fit.

Will go and buy a can of chrome paint to paint inside.

I tested some High Brightness 10mm LED's today, including a cluster with a bayonet attachment. I didn't like the look of it. Light just wasn't spread enough.

Only thing i'm not sure of, should I or shouldn't I tint the fresnels? using some nightshades.

1. Bug/tar remover (any auto-parts store should carry) and/or rubbing alcohol and lots of Q-tips!
2. "Just say 'no' ".
3. Make sure to use a rubberized primer or paint with a flex-additive (paint formulated for plastic/rubber) so it doesn't peel in a month. Check out the link:

Well ahead on you with flexi-primer, got a can of it, already used it for spraying plastic exterior pieces.

And what are q-tips? I've never heard that term here.

I honestly don't like the JDM tails (the factory standard ones in australia) and I never have.

Over here their common = boring
In the usa they are uncommon = not boring

I prefer the US lights personally, they suit the car better, the JDM ones....just don't do it for me.

hey i got them same lights, but im stuck ciz they dont fit a 89 coupe..they dont line up..ill post pics in a little bit

yeah these are the ones mase made, but they dont line up with my 89 coupe lights. so im gonna rig it up some way you'll see and ill post it when its done..

Do all the US lights have those fresnel lenses in them? I've never seen anyone else doing this

How much trouble you have making the clear plastic lenses?

I'm just hopefully going to get a plastic shop to do it.

the inner ones are light refractors. they help spread the lights, since the reflectors in the back, are just solid, just like the stock headlights and diamond back ones.

I personally did not wanna do it cause i dont know how to make the plastic stay on there and still look not too gay. Cops are ghey here so im sticking with my stock light setup. also another thing is that it takes too much time and im not that talented. I did the front bumper lights and i think its good enough limit for me.

Frankie i cant believe u got sedan lights for your coupe. THere has been sooo much talk about the total differnce between the two and how we cannot interchange them.

Ear Cleaners or Cotton Buds sometimes.

Never heard cotton swabs used to describe them.

cottom swabs are technically little balls of cotton used to either plug testubes or use as an instrument to apply liquid ointment. Usually for medical purposes they use them to stop and absorb blood after they pull it outta you for testing.

Cottom buds, and Q-tips are the most widly used i suppose.
