A Hell Of A Lot Cleaner! (Sorry 56K, Guess You're Not Good)

Well, I've updated a bit on the looks. Here's what has been done within the last couple weeks:

-Windows Tinted (20% in back, 35% up front)
    -Rear Bumper
    -Front Bumper
-Left and Right Door Side Pannels
-Left, Right and Rear Window Trim
-Left and Right Wheel Well Trim
-Left and Right "H"s on Hubs

Here are some pics, what do you think? (click to enlarge)

Some prep work, oh, and this picture was taken with my phone!

    And then the others...

If you're wondering why I don't have windshield wipers on, that's because they too are getting updated. Everything listed above was all my work, except the tinting.

Umm. Well, I masked off all of the flat parts of the H with masking tap, then, carefully and tediously used an x-acto knife to trim around the H, so that the H was masked off 2 inches around it all. Then, I cut a hole in newspaper, just enough to show the H. Cleaned the H with acetone, sprayed my trim paint on it, then clear coated and removed everything with masking.

wow... you took those with your camera phone? those are some high quality pics for a phone camera.

Anyway... looks awesome, i love the window tint, can't wait to get mine done . What kind of wipers are you going to use? i'd like to change mine out due to the fact that they are pretty slow.

I have no idea on what type of wipers I'm going to get. The blades are going to be strong and I need something that will withstand the Arizona sun. I'll have to look around. Oh, and only that first pic of me prepping was taken with my phone.

What kind and brand of paint did you use on the window trim? I need to repaint my rear trim and you seem to have the method. Thanks in advance!

I decided on Dupli-color's Bumper Coating. The adhesion of the paint, I was told, is a good one. It sounds weird to use bumper coating on trim, but yeah. I x-acto knifed as much faded rubber trim as I could, sanded, acetoned, primered a good amount (crucial for adhesion) and then sprayed on the bumper coat. Finished off with clear coat to make sure it lasts a long time. A lot of work for a very little area, but it does look a lot cleaner IMO.

did you do the tint yourself? or did you have it done professionally? How much did it cost you to do it?

Yeah that would update the look to an LX, but personally I would go the other way and paint the door below the trim black

    Nice car BTW Mike

Thanks all for the comments. I agree that painting would look a bit cleaner, but that would be the one sole thing that would take away from the stockness of the DX. It's weird, but yeah, that's me. And as for the tinting Deadhead, I had it professionally done for $100. My best friend's dad new a guy who referred this guy to me. Regularly it was going to be $150, but since I was referred, I got it for the price I did. Normally, however, when I was getting quotes, I didn't find anything for under $175...and that was a basic package. This is one of the higher packages of tint, so I kind of lucked out. All I have to say is shop around and ask anyone if they know people who professionally tint.
