Big News! Just Found B20A's In Australia!

They seem happy to let go of the motors for a possibly lower price since they have little or no use for them, and aside from me, there's really no market in australia for JDM B20A's.

$399 AUD which is about $290-$300 US, but i'd personally negotiate on the price.

They do alot in the way of importing and exporting engine, half-cuts, etc. They're quite a large firm.

Someone might also wish to organise a bulk buy of all their motors.

For the prices they're asking I wouldn't hesitate on this, its damn well worth it.

I myself have basically stopped any plans for any performance/engine work on the car. For reasons relating to costs, availability of parts, time, money and other things that the car would need I just can't justify it. I'm going to finish the body and interior as planned and end it there. Hopefully by the end of the year, that will all be done.

Yes! Importer in Sydney brought thme in a few years ago mistakenly as prelude motors, but found they weren't the same B20AX

These are the JDM accord motors.

With all accessories, everything except transmission. No 5spd Available!

However Engines they want $399, so I might just order myself one.

Now, with this in mind, I think I need to consider some important factor, namely what tranmission will fit his motor?

Can a Prelude B20A5 tranny fit or not?

    I'm stoked! $399!

if theres more let me know id like at least 1. to my knowledge no other tranny fits exact. there is a post thread about when mike lee had his setup he took the a20ax tranny and ground down some on the inside and it worked. I believe this is what carotmn has now. Mike

$399 australian, engine with everything except flywheel & tranny. US would prolly be around $279 US.

I'm just waiting a local person apparently has an import aCcord from New Zealand with B20A, complete working car, only problem is that it can't be registerd. Will hopefully find out on next week if I can get it and how much.

With the business doijng the engines, I'm not going to give out their details just yet. Still want to confirm they have what we hope they have.

Well i'm trying to confirm with this importer how many they've got, and other info, they did say they might have an or some auto's laying around.

I've been emailing and speaking with them, and I have informed them that there may be US buyers interested.

Price they quoted me is $399 S&H is all extra.

that is a very good price, but without tranny it won't do anygood laying around. no other tranny will fit that block. people tried and compared.
Chris, i think you should get that motor and get auto tranny to go a long with it. This way it won't be too much trouble to install it. you can always drive the car with B20 in it untill you find 5 speed that will fit.

    5 speed boxes

Why don't you guy's try looking in the U.K. or Europe, i've got Engines and gearboxes coming out of my ears down here, i'd love to buy some of these and sell to ya but i just don't have time with work commitments and lack of space from allready having shed loads of spares (i mean that literally just built another new shed to put stuff in!!)
I've seen two B20A ludes over here in the U.K on EBAY, may be some scrapyards might be able to ship to US

the transmission has to match the flywheel. I believe a b20a5 flywheel would let you use a b20a5 tranny. I don't know what axles would fit.. maybe the passenger a20 axles that we use with the b20a's?

even if flywheel will clear the bell housing on the trans., if bolt holes don't line up, you can't bolt up.

Well there are ways to make transmissions fit, involving drill bell housings, etc.

Someone just needs to make some sort of adapter plate so the a20 tranny cant bolt up to a b20. Like people did with the h22 to bolt up b series trannys!

They usually get back to you within 24hrs, they've been pretty good with that.

Otherwise call them directly, which is even better and quicker.

Wonder what is the differences between a prelude 5spd and a JDM accord 5spd? (B20A) is it that the bolt holes don't match up
    ?

With purchasing and shipping the engines overseas, I'd say if you can afford to, buy the lot all in one hit at a lower price and resell 'em.

if you want to know the diff between two trannies, you should ask carotman.
he did the comparison when he was building his B20.
