My AC died a couple weeks ago. Everything comes on, it just lost pressure. I tried a leak test/fix can, but it didn't do crap. Worse, I didn't see the dye come out anywhere!
Other than at the compressor, where should I be looking?

1. What year/model of car?
2. What refrigerant is in use - R-12 or R-134A?
3. Does the clutch engage the compressor when you turn on the unit?

check the pressure in the system with a leakdown test. Have a mechanic hook up a vacuum pump and gauges and see if it looses the vacuum. If it has a leak you can usually hear it as the air gets sucked in. Usually the little seals on the hose ends go bad, especially near the exhaust. You can buy a box of r-134 seals at an auto part for $6/7
