3g A20a1 into 85 Lude Swap Nightmares HELP PLEASE.

This is fun... Wiring is a nightmare because the color codes are not totally consistant. Close but not quite exact. The Carburetor that I picked up for this accidently was a 3 bbl kein. $5.00 mistake... Can I make it work??? I thought about getting the drill out and making it work but I am not too familiar with what the 3rd bbl is for and if I can just get away with treating it like it does not exsist. I pretty sure I am dreaming there but I will ask if anyone has tried it and been successfull. Or if anyone is interested in trading for a 2 bbl kein.

Does anyone know where to download a 85 lude wiring diagram?

I Picked up a shoe horned accord for a song and an 85 Prelude for even less (Trade for a SBC 400 4bbl Intake) . I am taking the engine out of the accord and putting it into the lude but I just "HAD" to modify the transmission first. My new half breed transmission is geared like this

    Gear-----Input---Output--Final Ratio
    1rst-----11------35------3.182
    2nd------18------35------1.944
    3rd------24------29------1.208
    4th------30------28------0.933
    5th------36------25------0.694
    final-----14------57------4.071

And the calculations for speed-rpm ratio are based on 185-70-13 tires

    --------1rst------2nd-----3rd-----4th-----5th
    750-------4-------7-------11------14------18
    1000------5-------9-------14------18------24
    1250------7-------11------18------23------30
    1500------8-------13------21------27------37
    1750------9-------15------25------32------43
    2000------11------17------28------36------49
    2250------12------20------32------41------55
    2500------13------22------35------45------61
    2750------15------24------39------50------67
    3000------16------26------42------54------73
    3250------17------28------46------59------79
    3500------19------30------49------64------85
    3750------20------33------53------68------91
    4000------21------35------56------73------98
    4250------23------37------60------77------104
    4500------24------39------63------82------110
    4750------25------41------67------86------116
    5000------27------44------70------91------122
    5250------28------46------74------95------128
    5500------29------48------77------100-----134
    5750------31------50------81------104-----140
    6000------32------52------84------109-----146
    6250------33------54------88------113-----152
    6500------35------57------91------118-----159
    6750------36------59------95------123-----165
    7000------37------61------98------127-----171

With the small tires and the 4.071 final drive ratio it should be kinda zippy. Now I just want about 200 Horses but due to major budget constraints just to get it to run is the priority for now... Also to looks like I may not be able to get the hood back on without putting a hole in it. But I havent tried that yet.

just take the alternator and it's mounting bracket from the lude engine and swap it on the accord engine, that way you'll be able to use the lude engine wiring harness. The rest of the stuff from the lude harness that doesnt fit the A20A1 engine is easy to modify.

the three barrel carb is for the cvcc engine and cylinder head, and the two barrel carb is for the standard cross flow cylinder head. you can not interchange them, it's impossible. the cvcc engine is a completly different design and nothing like the other. it has an extra combustion chamber, extra valve, for the same, different cam, different intake manifold with special passages, etc. it works like nothing else on earth. that would be like taking parts from a rotary engine and trying to make them work on a standard engine. just an example. If you have a cvcc engine and you need help i can help you though used to be quite an expert on them,by nescessity. here is the inside of a cvcc carb, notice the extra float
here is the carb base plate the raised part goes to the aux section of the carb and is the passage to the intake manifold.
if you have a cvcc carb i would go to thisoldhonda.org someone there might trade you, those cvcc carbs are getting really hard to find and you might keep someones car on the road with it. they have been thrown away for years and now there aren't enough parts to keep rebuilding them. this puts thousands of vintage hondas in jeprady of never running again.

Get a weber kit and never look back.

Seriously though, unless you have emission constraints swapping to a weber will make the wireing a whole lot easier, and will give you a noticable power increace (though no where near 200hp, you'll need a lot more work for that). All you'll have left to hook up with the weber are the ignition, temp sensor, and the electric choke. The rest of the crap in the harness is emissions controls.

I would love to do that but I am broke!!! I am trying to get this running to save money on gas. I am driving a full size Chevy (14mpg) right now about 80 miles a day and it is just killing me on gas. So I am looking for a cheap solution until I have the money upgrade to a 500 cfm carb, headers, cam, etc.

Those mods arn't going to save you any on gas. My accord manages ~16mpg with a pair of weber side drafts, cam, headers, etc... And it needs high test...

Anyway those carbs are a pain in the ass to get off. Last time I pulled a carbed intake from a junkyard I smashed the carb apart with a hammer because I didn't have a wrench that could get in there and get the bolts off. Impatients aside going back to a junkyard and pulling one will be your best bet. It's easier to just take the whole manifold off with the carb still attached IMO.
