well your probably gonna be stuck with the pacesetter, although there are the few and very rare dc sports headers that pop up all the time for way more then the should be sold for (suply and demand i guess) i think a couple ppl have s&s headers i think they are but there pretty pricy aswell. if your looking for a header right now and dont have the time/resources to build your own the pacesetters about all you got

Just curious, how much do you need those gaskets anyways? I was pretty pissed when I didnt get any gaskets when I bought my header from here, thought there were be something. But if I got a factory exhaust gasket used it with the header and had no gasket between the hheader and collector would that be a problem?

    Sorry for the jack

I have Pacessetter on my car for 2 years and i had it on my old car for a year.
he header is fine if you paint it with high temp paint.

exhaust is ok. The muffler sucks, so you may want to replace it right away.

the cat is ok. you can get universal one and make it work.

pacesetters have problems sometimes...would it be better for him to wrap his headers or tape them or leave them as is? i never had experieance with them so im just trying to perhaps shed some light in a few places.

yep. same for me. no problems, just much better gas mileage and more power. you could probably wrap those headers too, since they're steel and not some cheap composite, or a lightweight alloy.

i recently wrapped mine and noticed a little gain, and i definately noticed huge decreases in under-hood temps.

sure no prob. just don't expect a ricey sound from your exhaust. it'll be a deep grumble at idle, and a gradual vroom as you get higher in the RPM's. none of that jiffy-pop on speed sound.

I'd say to get a custom set up but if you don't have the money the pacesetter is the best option. You want to strip off the stock paint(sand blaster) or drive it for awhile until it burns off. It need to be paint very heavly with a hight temp paint. The VHT works pretty good about $7 for one can and make sure to follow th prep instuctions on the back. Might have to re coat it every year or so but will help keep it protected. The header wrap is prop a bad idea if you live in a very damp climate as it will trap mositure when the car is not being driven, but it does a great job with under hood temps.

It was only installed for about 5-6 thousand miles I put a couple coats of high temp paint (ceramic). I'll try and get a pic up when I can.
