    Lowered my 3Gee this weekend!

Well I lowered my 3gee this weekend, I got a set of Tom's Sport coilovers... i think thats what they are called. They were for 90-97 accord but as u all kno they fit likea dream. took 3.5 hours to install with myself and two other buddies with air tools. anyways I also got pics of the taillights I did for the accord. enjoy and let me kno what you think. BTW shocks are KYB Gr-2's, some dont like them but they ride alright for me.

final drop was i tink 3", and do u like my blue LED's in my signals? they stay on with the parking lights and when the signal goes it goes from blue, to purple to white when it blinks. look like I have blue accent lights at night.

I don't really like the sleepy/lazy eye look but otherwise the car looks great. Good work!

Yeah! Car looks good! How's the ride? GR-2s are just OEM replacement struts, so keep an eye on them since a drop will shorten their lifespan. I blew out a set of monroe sensatracs in 8 months with only a 1.5inch drop. Anyhow, look good!

dang, that thing looks bad ass with the drop there. black just looks great on 3gee's. so anyway, the car looks very clean and well done. no rice as far as i can see, so its all good. and actually i'm diggin the sleepy eye's. so you got it good. are those the LED's they sell like at Autozone? each time they are turned on or off they come back on a different color? those are kinda cool, i've stuck to just regular LED stuff in my cars signals. orange and red, i like LEDs.

HondaBoy , the LED's are just individual ones, and i wired them into the case of the signal, the signal bulb is still just white and the LED is just "hanging" if u will in the case, I drilled a hole in the casing put the LED in and so its blue all the time but when u signal the white cancels it out almost so the white mixes with blue and it goes from blue to purple to white. Daytime pics coming on saturday
    airdrie car show!!!

Yeah I am aware the GR-2's are just oem, i looked into it but it was all i could afford at the time cas they needed to be replaced. I will keep an eye on them, but they dont bottom out and no rubbing of anykind on corners or bumps, I was surprised taht there were no problems with dropping it this much so I'm happy. As for the sleepy eyes, at night I think it makes the car have a unique look when they are on and everyone in airdrie knows its my car.

and the coilovers are Tom's Motorsports Coilovers purchased them from speedtech in Calgary www.speedtechracing.com

looks good. i like the tails too. black looks god with the red. better then those civics with those round laminates that go over the stock tails...so you still see the square corners in the middle of the circles. i like it. not down with the lazy eye look but otherwise itsw really clean. you should try and mask off the chrome around your windows and repaint that....or see about getting some new covering for it or cut the rest of the black off..i dunno to get rid of the chrome//black splotchiness. looks good though.

yeah I was waitin on that one to get dropped. Nice height you got there.
Yeah those coilovers may be fine in the back for a while, but I took my frnnt tokicos off after 2 years and they were blown to the max.
The black is clean though. I bet it would look super smooth with the headlights closed.
    Nice ride. - J

Very sexy. But I would like to see some daytime pics also.

I'm also interested in how you got everything looking so good. What car care products you used, and I would appreciate any car care tips.

    TIA.

    Peace.

if i purchased some JDM lowring springs for my 92 accord, will the springs kill my struts? the drop is 1.2 inches in back.. and it will be 1.5 inches in front, they are supposibly JDM lowering springs. How do you know when your struts get messed up

    thanks

TheWatcher, for car care products I used a couple, if its a full out cleaning day I use, Black Magic Car Wash soap (smells sooo good.. like cherries), then dry it, put ont turtle wax car care wax (its black and fill scratches etc. quite nicely) buff that in, then buff Mothers Carnuba Wax to give it the extra shine, for wheels I simply use Mother's Mag Wheel Polish (if anyones used this they can back me up when saying its the best wheel polish ever) and mothers Hot Shine Tire shine. I also use the mothers wheel polish for exhaust tip and other chrome accessories. But the Black magic Car was soap def. is an awesome buy, after ur doen washing it looks like u waxed ur car, it just doesnt last as long (if it rains or soemthing). I hope that covers all aspects for car care accessories. and viper55os, if u are gonna lower ur car most people on here say regardless u should change ur struts to performance ones, its a golden rule of thumb, but only a 1.5" drop shouldnt be too bad on ur shocks for a while. and u'll start bottoming out alot once ur struts go, I'm pretty sure thats how u kno... thats how I knew when to get new ones.

    Thanks JFreddy!

I still have some TW Ultra Gloss Liquid Wax. So I need to use the rest of it, before I get anything else.

BTW, I use the TW Ultra Gloss Detailer to extend the life of the wax. You should try it.

    Peace.

I'll look into it, right now my detail spray is black magic... I'm just attracted to the name... Black magic just works soo well on black cars... (but i think its mostly in my head). and viper055 just try searching in the suspension section there are stickys on what struts and what coils and all that jazz.
