    if i do that i'll have to make one with a slightly bigger outside diameter,thought about it but 3/8 is just a bit too big.

    no problem,right before you called I had just had the joint at the back of it welded up,it had been clamped right after the flange,from fitting it together,and it was leaking there and sounding ricy,It only cost me ten bucks to have that spot welded together. I hadn't had any way to get under there and fix it. sounds a lot different and the fumes aren't leaking in the car anymore. the only problem with a glass pack is they wear out every few years,but if you put a flange on the car they are easy to change. that was one reason for all this work,now all i have to do is unbolt three bolts,loosen the big hose clamp and slide the muffler off. if i need to change it. that way i just weld a header flange on to another muffler and bolt it up. I welded the three cap screws to the flange on the car so that act as studs.

    those thrush glass packs sound bad ass on my dads truck. he's got a 1959 chevy pickup with a built up 350

    I ended up with an authentic cherry bomb glasspack same thing as the thrush,the car sounds much better without the converter on it. very very loud.

    I would but I have to work on them when i get a chance,If i had the money and the space,I would probably buy a used bridgeport and a lathe.
