Vid My Turboed 86 Honda Acccord

Well here is a vid i put together of my car last night and it has a couple races against this ones guys 00 civic si on nitrous from last night on it. I was actually breaking my clutch in since i only had it for 2 days but i couldnt resist racing on it alittle and i payed the consequences and i blew my third gear syncro pretty bad on the second race vs the si and i just gave up. It grinds going into third really bad. I was fighting it getting into gear all night. Im pretty pissed off about it since i just had the tranny out of it 3 days ago!!!!! So now im going to have to rip apart the tranny and rebuild it now.

BTW: my clutch specialties 6 puck is awesome!!!! It grips so good!!!! You can see in the vid how bad the tires spin just going into second gear. It wont stop spinning in second unless i shift to third or left off the gas its insane!!! Now i need some drag radials lol.

O if you couldnt tell i beat the si by about 3 cars i just didnt catch him till third gear when i actually gained traction and passed him.

Looking very good, Adam. Too bad the tranny went fubar. Hope you can fix it and get that beast running again.

Holly boost friendly motor batman, That shit is quick, but if you were to feather the gas a little more you could stomp that Si off the line. It seems like you would be better off jsut starting in second. Good luck with the project and post more movies when you fix the syncrose.

Nice work.. a tripod for that camera would have been really cool though. Or a small bracket off the passenger headrest to hold it steady would be good too.

Yeah youre probably right about starting in 2nd. Adam not to be nick picky but could you take a video that isn't so blurry? I just wanted to be able to tell what your speedo and tack were at but it was to blurry. Sorry to complain. The car is freckin' awesome though! What turbo and boost pressure are you running?

Umm, sorry about the video quality i shinked the file size down abit when i put the vid together so it wasnt so big and it took some of the quality away from it. Yes the camera man sucks but that was the only person i had to film it.

The car i think was at about 8psi or so on these runs.

Umm anyone know what parts will work in my tranny so i can start getting parts????

i would seriously suggest cryo treating your tranny before you put it back in the car (unless u have to do a rush job)

the catch is that u have to have it totally dissassembled, which means u either have to know what your doing , or pay a shop to dissassemble it, then take it to cryo then take it back and reassemble it...

on the bright side its only like $250 to cryo the whole tranny (provided it is in peices). and its a great insurance against stuff like this.

and as u already know, get an lsd.

Yea, thats my problem. I want to do this all right but when it comes to trannys i dont know where to buy the parts or what parts are better and what will work the best for my setup. I also got to figure out what usdm tranny parts will fit in it since im not going to be able to find jdm b20a tranny parts. Any help is apreciated!!

o yes btw: it will will be deffiently getting a lsd before it gets put back together.

yeah i wish i could help. if i could have found an usdm tranny that would fit, i would have already bought and built a b20,

of course ill let u know if i come accross anything. but i am sure internals from a lot of these will still be compatible, the problem is, a shop will have to do the crossreferencing, more than likely.

Damn adam, Nice video and if you get really desperate on tranny parts i have a spare tranny but it seems to shift hard in 5th and reverse just testing it on my work bench. Finding parts is going to be a nightmare for the tranny but im sure something will match it from the honda lineup. If you need anything let me know but i paid good money for it as it was supposed to be fully functional (it may be but something feels odd to me).

Turbo is not good on the wallet but its addicting. I took mine out the other day just to rip down the street. I should try to make a video before i pull it all apart again.

hey thanks rob! Ill let you know what happens. It seems to be just the syncro that is messed up and im going to try and get some syncromesh and fill the tranny up with that and see if it helps it alittle for now. Im really nervous about ripping apart the tranny and not being able to get parts for it.
